A big night in the Championship tonight with the main course about to be served after Saturday afternoons dour starter. The biggest game of the day has to be Birmingham City’s visit to the Stadium of Light to take on fellow relegated club Sunderland. New Sunderland manager Niall Quinn hopes to add to his squad in time for his first home game in charge. Liam Lawrence is a doubt after suffering a calf strain in Saturday's opening day defeat at Coventry. Birmingham will be without the suspended Cameron Jerome, after they decided not to appeal against the red card he received against Colchester. Fellow strikers DJ Campbell and Mikael Forssell are injury doubts and Radhi Jaidi is still being rested. I still expect a Birmingham win. Sunderland looked short of ideas against Coventry and for me Birmingham and West Brom are the standout favourites for the title. The baggies travel to Wales to take on the Blue Birds. West Brom boss Bryan Robson has named the same squad from Saturday's victory against Hull.

Robson is taking the same 18 players to Ninian Park - the 16 involved in the 2-0 success plus rookie strikers Stuart Nicholson and Rob Elvins.

Cardiff skipper and centre-back Darren Purse is doubtful to face his old club after straining his calf on Saturday.

Roger Johnson is poised to deputise and make his full debut, but Kevin Cooper is still suffering from a knee strain. Table toppers Burnley travel to the Walkers Bowl and Leicester will have to show a big improvement if they are to contain Burnley’s live wire attacking midfielders Alan Mahon and Steve Jones. Leicester boss Rob Kelly is boosted by the return of defender Patrick Kisnorbo who comes back from suspension.

Midfielder James Wesolowski (thigh) is out, while goalkeeper Rab Douglas (shoulder) remains doubtful so Paul Henderson will continue to deputise.

Burnley manager Steve Cotterill has no new injury worries.

However, goalkeeper Danny Coyne (knee) is not yet in contention, while utility player Danny Karbassiyoon (knee) is still sidelined. Mick Macarthy starts his home campaign against Ipswich and he’ll be looking for 3 points to kick start his season.

Wolves are boosted by the return of Seyi Olofinjana (groin), while Denes Rosa is also available after missing Saturday's opener against Plymouth.

But Lewis Gobern (groin) looks set to miss out and Gary Breen (ankle) will have a fitness test.

Ipswich's only injury doubt is skipper Jason De Vos (strained knee ligaments).

New signing Alex Bruce will replace De Vos if he is unfit with Richard Naylor deputising as captain, while striker Sam Parkin is also named in the squad.
