Some news on the Chelsea striker search with reports that Obafemi Martins could be set for Stamford Bridge.
He has drawn interest from a host of Premiership clubs after he put in a transfer request yesterday following Hernán Crespo's two-year loan to Internazionale from Chelsea.
The champions may be among those who would entertain a move for the Nigerian after acceding to Crespo's request to return to Italy, though the strongest overtures will come from Portsmouth. The Fratton Park club are desperate for a proven striker having been thwarted in their efforts to sign Nicolas Anelka.

I’ve not seen much of him in real life but I can certainly vouch for his ability on Pro-Evolution Soccer. The boy has got real pace and he knows where the back of the net is. All qualities that are needed by a striker. He could be the missing piece of the Chelsea jigsaw. Or maybe he’ll just be another piece that no-one knows how to fit in the puzzle. He’ll sit on the bench for a year then leave for free. Who knows?
