I’m getting fed up these days with all these prima donna cry baby footballers always wanting their own way. Every day I read about another footballer that is refusing to turn up for training, or wants to move clubs, or has been photographed in another teams shirt.

They don’t seem to live in the real world, if you sign a contract for 4 years, you can’t decide two years down the line you want to leave and if your not allowed your going to throw your toys out of the pram and not turn up for training. Fair enough if a player ask to leave and the club then agrees a fee with any possible suitors. If the club decides they don't want to sell or no clubs are willing to meet the asking price tough!! The player signed the contract in the first play so they should just get their heads down and work hard for the team. Does this always happen? Does it bollocks!!
You got Ashley Cole at Arsenal saying he doesn’t want to play for them any more. I absolutely agree with Arsene Wengers stance of “If you want to sign him, it’s £25million, take it or leave it”. He’s contracted to Arsenal and Chelsea have an endless pit of funds so any deal should be on Arsenals terms!! Then there’s the Spanish gypsy Reyes who poses in a Real shirt and says it would be a dream to play for them. I know it’s difficult to keep players who clearly don’t want to play for you anymore but it makes me sick that they seem to always get there own way in the end.
Chris Coleman at Fulham has said that Malbranque will rot in the reserves this year and will never play for Fulham’s first team again. Well done Chris Coleman I say. It’s not even that Fulham are standing in his way of leaving. They’ve agreed fees with numerous clubs but he has rejected them all. Either he’s after an extortionate salary or he’s he waiting for a “bigger” club to come in for him. I’ve got news for you Steed; no big club wants you because you aren’t good enough!!
Gallas decides he wants to leave Chelsea for a new challenge so decides to take an extended summer break. What other profession allows for this to happen. If I decided to do the same I would be sacked on the spot and would probably struggle to get another job. You can’t really sack a footballer because this would be playing right into their hands and the club would be losing an asset for nothing. But surely something has to be done?
It’s not just at the highest level either. There’s Jason Koumas at West Brom who hasn't yet turned up for training this season because he wants to move to Cardiff. He is being fined every time doesn't turn up and Bryan Robson and the club have every right to fine him for not turning up for training, which is his duty as a player who is contracted to them. I hope they keep fining him until he’s completely broke!! West Brom have set an asking price for Koumas which Cardiff can't or won't pay, therefore they’re offer has been refused. Now we have the situation where the player is unsettled by speculation and has thrown his toys out of the pram because he doesn't agree with the asking price.
No club should have to put up with this sort of behaviour. The whole attitude of these players stinks. They should all stop being babies and turn up for work like the rest of us have to do! I reckon these players should be made to rot in the reserves until their contracts run out. I know that clubs would in essence be losing out, but hopefully it might set a precedent and send out a message to players that - no player is bigger than the club. A few ruined careers and players may think twice before resorting to such childish behaviour in the future.
