2-1 to Liverpool in today's curtain raiser to the season

And so the big boys have taken to the field for the curtain raiser to the Premiership season. Not a great game but still worth watching for a couple of hours. Andre Shevchenko looked amazing, and that Craig Bellamy boy didn’t look half bad. The problem for Chelsea is though, how will they accommodate all their all stars into one side? I don’t think it’s possible. They have too much quality to finish outside the top three but when it comes to winning the title again they might just fall short. As for Liverpool, they now have a side bustling full of attacking intent, with pace to burn in more than one area of the pitch. If pennant can stay out of trouble, he’ll set up his fair share of goals, while the partnership of Peter Crouch and Craig Bellamy up front, looks like it could just fire the Reds to the title. I expect this to be one of the closest Premiership battles in years, I can’t pick a winner from last years top 4, can you?

Completely agree, I think this could be one of the closest Premiership battles yet. Chelsea have signed more 'superstars', Rafa's been busy adding more pace to his attack, Arsenal managed to retain Henry and some of their younger players will come back stronger after gaining experience last year. United have Scholes back which will be like a new signing in itself and I don't think we've seen the last of the transfer activity at Old Trafford.

United will win it. Ronaldo and Rooney are gonna blow the Premiership apart. They've settled their differences and as an attacking threat there's no-one can touch them.

Agreed they're good (Rooney & Ronaldo), but they're not that good. What about Henry & Fabregas or Shevchenko & Robben or Bellamy & Gerrard? I wouldn't quite say no-one can touch them!!
